Dr Sofie Skogen, a homeopathic pioneer with a unique approach, is at the helm of Tree of Guidance. Her journey began with a university education in medicine in Norway, followed by postgraduate training in her lifelong passion, homeopathy. She studied and gained most of her medical qualifications in Norway, fulfilling her obligations to become a fully qualified homeopathic physician. In her 2-year post-graduation, she worked with difficult cases and case management; Dr Sofie then went on to a 3-year postgraduate course with the Alternative Noble Laureate, Professor George Vithoulkas, and his team..
Dr Sofie has studied children’s health and hormonal and metabolic health, including thyroid issues and gut health, to great length and continues to carry out research, keeping abreast of any updates in the science of medicine and new developments in homeopathic medicine.
The History of Homeopathy in the UAE
When Dr Sofie moved to the UAE, homeopathy was not recognised by the health authorities, and she made it her mission for homeopathy to become part of the authorised and legal health practices in the UAE. After 10 years of working on developing a code of practice for the homeopathic medical system in the UAE, by 2000, the licensing process of homeopathic physicians was fully formulated and implemented into the UAE health system; homeopathic medicines are regulated and can be purchased over the counter in many UAE pharmacies; and UAE insurance companies cover many homeopathic consultations and treatments.
Licensing in the UAE for alternative medical practices began with the homeopathic licensing code of practice. Nowadays, you will find UAE-licensed practitioners in osteopathy, chiropractor, naturopathy, ayurveda, and Chinese medicine.
